आज के इस ब्लाग में हम जानेगें कि Static Routing क्या हैं और यह कैसे काम करती हैं।
Router पर हम Route की information को दो तरीके से configure कर सकते हैं पहला तरीका (Static Routing) यह है कि मैं खुद Router की Routing Table में manually हर routes की information add करूँ या दूसरा तरीका (Dynamic Routing) यह है कि हम किसी protocol की मदद से Router की Routing Table में routes की information को add करवा ले।
* Static Routing -
Static Routing वो Routing होती हैं जिसमें Network Administrator को Source से लेकर Destination तक हर एक route की entry manually Router की Routing Table में करना पड़ता है और इन्ही routes की मदद से data packet source से destination तक भेजे जाते हैं।
Example - जैसा कि आप diagram में देख पा रहे हैं कि मेरे पास 3 Router हैं। अगर मुझे Router A पर static routing configuration हैं तो मुझे Router A की Routing Table में Router B और Router C तक कौन से routes से पहुंचा जा सकता है, उन routes की entry manually enter करनी पड़ेगी। ठीक इसी प्रकार से मुझे Router B और Router C पर भी manually entry करनी पड़ेगी। इसकी configuration के concept को हम और समझेगे जब हम इसकी configuration करेगे।
अगर Network Administrator चाहे तो एक बार Router की Routing Table में Route configuration करने के बाद इस configuration को configuration file में Save कर सकता है जिससे उसे बार बार route की entry ना करना पड़े और जैसे भी Router load हो Router उस configuration को assign कर ले।
Static Routing अपने आप से change नही होती, जो configuration आपने एक बार कर दी तो वो तब तक change नही होती हैं जब तक आप उसे change ना करे।
Static Routing में Routing Table automatic update नही होती है। Routing Table में उन्ही Routes की information होती हैं जिन्हे आपने configure करके रखा है।
Static Routing में Router's एक दूसरे को थोड़ी थोड़ी देर में Routing Table Share नही करते हैं, इसका फायदा यह हैं कि आपके नेटवर्क की Bandwidth कम खर्च होती हैं और Router के Resources का भी कम use होता है।
Static Routing बहुत secure & fast होती हैं और इसमे सिर्फ Network Admin ही Route को add कर सकता है।
Static Routing configuration के लिये आपको ये पता होना चाहिये कि आपके नेटवर्क में Router's कैसे Connect है और एक जगह से दूसरी जगह जाने के Routes भी पता होना चाहिये।
अगर आपके पास एक जगह से दूसरी जगह जाने के तीन route हैं और आपने किसी एक route पर Static Routing configure कर दी, ऐसे में अगर वो route fail हो गया तो data packet Destination तक नही पहुच पायेगा। इस condition में हमे फिर से दूसरा route configure करना पड़ेगा।
Static Routing small organization के लिये best होती हैं जहाँ 4-5 Routers हो परन्तु एक बड़े organization में जहाँ बहुत सारे 20-50 Routers हो ऐसे में हर Router पर जाके manual configure करना बहुत ही मुश्किल काम होता हैं और इसमे गलतियाँ होने की भी संभावना होती हैं।
Static Routing one way communication हैं अगर आप चाहते हैं कि Static Routing two way communication करे तो दोनो side आपको Static Routing करनी पड़ेगी। अगर आपके नेटवर्क में दो Router हैं तो मुझे दोनो Routers पर Static Routing करनी पड़ेगी तभी वो two way communication कर पायेगे।
Static Routing की AD value 1 होती हैं।
