● IPv6 provide the benefits such as increased address space and security improvements. Some other benefits and uses of IPv6 are given as follows :

1. It supports the feature ofs of the security protocols such as IPSec to provide secure communication over the internet.

2. It provides a way to change addresses that are assigned to the hosts for maintaining address assignment within a site.

3. It provides globally unicost addressing remove the need for NAT/PAT.

4. IPv6 address assignment allow easier renumbering, dynamic allocation and recovery of addresses.

5. The IPv6 header improves several things compare to IPv4. In IPv6 router does not recalculate a header checksum for every packet, reducing overhead per packet.

6. IPv6 has many tools to help with the transition from IPv4 to IPv6.
