Subnet Mask and Default Mask
#Summary - In today's blog we will discuss about what is Subnet Mask and Default Mask in Networking. It is very important part of IP Addressing so please read it to seriously.
#Subnet Mask -
*A Subnet Mask specifies which part of an IP Address is reserved for the Network, and which part is available for host use.
*For example, Subnet Mask of 255.255.0.0 is having first two octet reserved for the Network and last two octet reserved for host use.
*The Subnet Mask is a Binary pattern that is stored in the server or Router to find the network address.
#Default Mask -
*In the IPv4 Classful addresses consists of three classes : Class A, Class B and Class C an deach class having a default mask.
*Class A consists of eight 1s in the network address field and twenty four 0s remaining field.
*Class B consists of Sixteen 1s in the network address field and Sixteen 0s remaining field.
*Class C consists of twenty four 1s in the network address field and eight 0s remaining field.
*The number of 1s must match the number of network address bits and the number of 0s must match the number of host address bits ..
