#Area Network -
*LAN (Local Area Network) - LAN is a Computer Network that spans over a small area. It Connect Computers and workstations of office or home. Covers a local area of 1 Km. Data Transmission Rate of LAN network is 10/100/1000 Mbps and its follows IEEE 802.11 Standard. LAN Network Design cost is low than other networks.
#PAN (Personal Area Network) - PAN Network is organised by individual person for self use and this types network include a computer, printer,Scanner and PDA.
#CAN (Campus Area Network) - This types network belongs to a Campus and it is the group of LAN but condition that is required Network should be in a Campus like Hospital Campus, University Campus etc.
#MAN (Metropolitan Area Network) - This types Network Covers area of a single city. Usually MAN connect more than one LAN in a city and covers a small geographical area than WAN. The cable TV,Telephone Companies or local corporation use MAN.
#WAN (Wide Area Network) - WAN covers a Wide geographical area which includes multiple computers, LANs or MANs. It connect computer through public network like telephone system, microwave, satellite link or leased line. WAN spans large geographical area more than 100 Km. WANs Data Transmission Rate is 64 Kbps to 10 Mbps. Its follows ITU Standard. Designing cost of WAN is very high than other networks.
